Our Objective
Shaler Area Youth Lacrosse Club (SAYLC) is dedicated to shaping more than just athletes. We are committed to building character. Through the game of lacrosse, we strive to instill the values of sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect in the youth of our community. By providing a positive, competitive, and developmentally focused lacrosse experience, we help young players grow in confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Our ultimate goal is to inspire and develop respectful, healthy individuals who carry these values with them both on and off the field.Our Board
Shaler Area Youth Lacrosse Club is a non-profit 501c3, organization dedicated to the success and growth of youth lacrosse in our community. The Board of Directors is made up of committed volunteers who generously give their time to support the program. Board members assist with organizing practices, managing equipment, coordinating fundraising efforts, planning social events, overseeing tournaments, and handling any other duties necessary to support the program.The 2026 Executive Board is comprised of the following individuals:● President: Matt Kline

Boys’ Field Lacrosse - Required Equipment
All players must have the following equipment to participate in practices and games:- Lacrosse Stick – Standard stick approved for boys’ field lacrosse
- Helmet – Lacrosse Field Helmet
- Gloves – Padded gloves for hand and wrist protection
- Shoulder Pads – Pads designed to protect the shoulders and heart
- Arm Pads – Protection for elbows and forearms
- Mouthguard – A visible, non-white colored mouthguard is required
- Athletic Cup – Required for protection
- Cleats – Turf or grass cleat; no metal spikesPlease reach out if you have any questions. We highly encourage you to visit Top String Lacrosse on their website or Wexford or Bethel Park locations. Top String Starter Package is in-store only; athletes should be present to ensure proper fitting and to design their custom strung stick.
1st Year Player Equipment Rental Program
Shaler Area Youth Lacrosse offers an equipment rental program for first-year players only. This program is designed to help families reduce the cost of trying lacrosse for the first time.Fees and Deposit:
Equipment Rental Fee: $50.00 (non-refundable) paid via cash, check, or venmo
Equipment Deposit: $150.00 undated check, returned at end of season upon equipment returnEquipment Issued:
